Baby Shower (Godh Bharai) - To Celebrate the Transformation of a Woman Into a Mother.

When she becomes a mother, each woman is a god.

In some countries, a baby shower is a way to celebrate a child's expected or delivered birth by presenting gifts at a party to the mother, while other cultures host a baby shower to celebrate a woman's transformation into a mother.

In India, a baby shower is commonly called "Godh Bharai." But it's called' Shaad' in Bengal,' Seemandham' in Tamil Nadu in Kerala, it's called' Valakappu.' This event is the perfect time to surprise the moms with gifts for her and her baby. For a perfect time to celebrate this event, different communities and families have their own reasoning.

This ceremony is most commonly held when the mother is seven months pregnant. It is believed that both mother and baby are in a "safe phase." In different parts of the country, Godh Bharai ritual is celebrated differently.

Regardless of the mom-to-be community, one aspect is common to all communities. In other words, focus on celebrating maternity and blessing the newborn baby. In some families, the body of the mother-to-be is anointed with a special oil by elderly women in the family as part of their religious ceremony.

The oils used for anointing and the purposes for their use are thought to have a very special purpose with physical, emotional and spiritual effects on body, mind, and spirit. The mother-to-be is then dressed in a saree or other traditional clothing of her choice, adorned with flowers or garlands.

Finally, puja is performed before God Bharti's activities or events begin. In the event of a west-inspired baby shower ceremony, friends and the mother-to-be organize a meeting with a baby theme and gifts are given to the mother-to-be and the baby-to-be. In view of the various activities planned to celebrate a baby shower, friends and relatives ensure that the mother-to-be is well-rested before the hectic day ahead.

Given the weather and location, the dress code should be considered. If it is a traditional ceremony, it would be an ideal dress code for saree or lehenga. An elegant evening dress or dress can be considered for an informal baby shower with friends. There is no need to organize an event indoors. The poolside, in the lawn or even on the terrace, can be arranged. Baby cards, baby booties, soft pillows, baby items, photo frames, etc. can be left for the baby to be born.

Return a sign of appreciation to the guests. It can be anything like scarves, books, fragrant candles, etc. Godh Bharai is calling for a festival full of sweets and deeply fried savors. Many mothers are very health-conscious these days, though. But it shouldn't stop them having a good time. A "diet" theme in which baked or steamed food is complemented by fruits, juices and vegetables can be ideal not only for the future mom but also for guests. Think of some fun times for everyone like music, dance, and mehndi artists.

Play a simple game like guessing the baby's gender by looking at the mother's stomach. Add fun themes to the event, such as everyone dressing up as if they were pregnant too (stuffing pillows on their bellies) will be fun and help the mother not to feel out of place. The little man is on his way and there is no better way to celebrate him than a Godh Bharai (Baby Shower).

Enjoy this opportunity with your loved ones. Before you know it, it will be over. This day is certainly a gift. Remember that motherhood is difficult and you make the choice to put the happiness and well-being of someone else ahead of you. When a woman becomes a mother, it will be her greatest achievement
